I appreciate all your comments, this set is one of the nicest I've come across. I'll try to answer some questions...
First, I think these are 1959 as that's what on the parts manual for this washer (A28) although could be 1960. This is the first Speed Queen washer I've seen that has a PUSH to start timer knob, every other model used a PULL to start timer. The conditioning center is basically 2 plastic containers each with perforated lids (will take more pics later of this). At the appropriate time there is a dispenser solenoid which pushes these over and "dumps" if you will the bleach and softener at the right time. The knobs are there to reset these to the upright position after the cycle. Of course there is water flowing during this increment to flush these into the tub. Very cool feature. The machines both seem to be in good mechanical condition, I just tried the washer and it agitates and spins just fine. Ironically, Greg N (gansky1) had sent me the parts and repair manual for this very model 8 years ago! Thank you again for that, who knew I would ever end up with them.
