however- I like the way I separate eggs.....cradle the entire content of the egg in my left hand, and let the egg white drip through my very clean fingers. Just as easy, and less nerve-wracking than tossing the yolk back and forth.

Yup that's the way I have done it for years. The back and forth thing takes way too long especially if you have to seperate 32 Eggs for a double batch of Creme Brulee !!!

Thanks, Eddy, this was awesome.  My sister and her son (15) were over on Saturday and we played with this for a 1/2 hour - I was surprised how fascinated the boys were with the trick.  That poor tired egg never did lose it's yolk sack despite 20+ trips into the bottle and out again.

My husband is going to make some of his famous double chocolate pudding for dinner with guests tonight, and that will require separating 6 eggs. I happen to have a water bottle in the fridge. Mind you, I don't cook, but I'll see if I can impress him shortly with my newly acquired skill!
