Found this at an estate sale this weekend. It was $25 and the next day dropped to half price!
Was threatened with death, or worse if I brought it home! Hope it didn't go to the scrapper.
Owner said matching dryer was taken away five years ago when replaced with the Kenmore 600's. (which I bought!)

i love the way....

the turquoise trim paint pops with this rich coppertone brown color. and i really dig the "sears best" sticker on there. you know i have a set of pots & pans that are marked "sears best". they are the exact same kind of pots & pans my mom had when i was little back in the 1970's.

thanks for sharing this beauty!!

:o)

Ken -

I wondered what that was on the lint filter door myself, a closer look revealed that it is the door handle that has come off. At least the seller kept it!!

The dryer is standard capacity, but they work well with large capacity washers. Our '74 Kenmore large capacity washer was paired with a '72 standard Kenmore dryer for 9 years in our ownership, then at least 16 more years at my co-worker/friend's house when I sold that set prior to moving to Charlotte. If you have a '74 Lady K washer, they look quite nice and almost a perfect match to this 1972 dryer with the console doors closed, but are a little different with the doors open side by side. I think Kevin has a pic of this combination in Avocado.
