Hey gang !
It's been a while so I thought I would let everyone know how the rehab of the '06 coppertone Lady K was going.
Well it's been a nightmare or should I say a horror soap opera.
Anyway, it's just been one thing after another. I get one issue resolved and another rears its ugly head.
Since this has been a soap opera, I've decided to fill you in just like a soap opera----- in installments. Hope this keeps everyone amused and "on the edge of their seats".
I've decided to call my soap opera, "As the Lady K Spins". My first choice was "The Young and the Hung (laundry that is)', but decided that it could be taken the wrong way.
So here it is your first intallment of "As the Lady K Spins".
Enjoy.

Oh dear...sounds similar to another friend's trials with a Kenmore. I'm sure it will be a fun read! Just to double check though, I don't think you meant '06. '66 perhaps?

Sorry for 2 posts but something happened to the site while I was posting this and I got 2 posts. I'll continue on this one.
Your right, it should be '66

As we last left our hero Dr. Jim, he was diligently trying to rehab our Lady K to her former glory so that he could return her to the pantheon of classic machines.

He diagnosed her malady as malfunction of the water valve.
Because the Lady K was so old and had a rare and almost incurable 3 way water valve assembly, the good Dr. decided to go on a whirlwind search for the rare and elusive valve.
He searched high and low-- even debasing himself at times.
And lo and behold a saviour arrived. The saviour not only had a replacement valve, but a new one at that! However, there was a price to pay--------- it cost a lot.
Money was no object for our kind Dr., only the saving of our beloved Lady K.
So our Dr. dug deep in his pockets and bought the new valve.
Such a price. Such a price.

The Lady K was rushed in to emergency surgery and the valve replaced. Below is a picture of the removed defective valve (not for the squemish)!
The bottom is hot water, middle cold, and top warm

After the emergency valvectomy the Lady K was tested.
All systems go, until------------
the cold water was would not close down all the way and was leaking into the wash tub.
Oh no !!!!
Can the valve be saved ?
Can the Lady K be saved ?
Will she wash again ?

Stay tuned for the next installment of, "As the Lady K Spins".
