It works!

I have used that method for years.  The kernels really plump up and I swear the corn is much more flavorful.

That is really neat.  I am going to give it a try for sure.  Thanks for sharing.

I only do my corn in the microwave, really dislike it any other way.  My relative insist on boiling it, and I think the result is a soggy mess, not appetizing at all.

I take off a few outer portions of the husk and pop a single ear in for 3:30-4:00 depending on size.   then I pull down on the husk and form a handle of sorts at the end.  Then I gather up the silk and give it a pull and 80-90% of it comes off.  Much prefer having an easy way to hold the corn and the folded up husks work well through dinner keeping the butter and salt off my hands.  I could use those little corn holders but then there is just more to clean up after dinner...

I always dehusk it first so I can see if there was anything living in there first, then in a deep glass bowl I put in some water, add 1 tsp honey and then cover it with plastic wrap and microwave for about 4 minutes. The corn always comes out tender and sweet. I agree, the best method of cooking.

But the method in the video DOES look very convenient and is neat too.

Very interesting! And cool!!!

I usually put the corn in the sink and run some water over it for a minute. The only thing I trim is the handle if it's a bit too long, and I trim the other end so I cut through the first couple of kernels. Then I wrap it in paper towel and wet it. Nuke for about 2.5 minutes per ear then take the paper towel off and throw it on the grill while the steak (chicken, ribs) finish. Rich doesn't grill his so we nuke it for another minute per ear.

When I husk it, I usually get most of the silk, but if you take a dry paper towel and wipe down while twisting, you'll get 99% of the rest. Besides, I like having the natural handle (no extra cleaning as Matt said!).

However, that looks too fun not to try! Time to pull out the little yellow holders!

Just about every modern-day vegan cookbook recommends minimal or no water in a microwave oven as the most nutrient-r
retaining method for cooking veggies.  I wonder if this person's parents believed a microwave oven powered by nuclear-generated electricity will irradiate the food.
