A couple of interesting pieces from Classic Kitchens and More.  These appear to be items once sold only at the factory stores.  What most likely happened is that these are VISIONS pieces inadvertently heat-tempered until they turned white.  Unable to offer them to retailers as CorningWare, Corning and/or World Kitchen labeled them Pyromax, possibly a trademark Corning had registered but hadn't used on anything else, and shipped them to the factory stores.  The casserole is the same shape as the short-lived VISIONS Healthy Basics Versa Pot, and the saucepan is still sold overseas in both opaque white Pyroceram and transparent amber Calexium.

there were a number

...of Corningware saucepans sold with aluminum bottoms. Is this one of them? Or is it all glass?

I have some saucepans that are actually all Corningware. I'll have to look at them tonight and see the details.

The aluminum-clad cookware was called Rangetoppers.  These appear to be naked Pyroceram, uh, Pyromax with Pyrex lids.

Given the quality of the pieces being marketed by "Corning" today, they would live up to the name Pyromax if used for deep fat frying. I loved the warnings with every Pyrex Flameware pan not to use it for deep frying.
