Need a bit more assistance again from the Corningware experts.
Some time ago I purchased a MIB Electromatic heating platter. Have used it successfully but am concerned about something.
When it is in use, it gets really, really hot - as does the food. The bacon I intended to keep warm was actually sizzling on the platter. (It was on tinfoil applied directly to the tray). The quiche (on a tin platter) was bubbling at the bottom. I wonder if this is normal. I sort-of expected the platter to keep things warm. However, I bet I could fry eggs and bacon on it with no trouble.
Now, the unit did not come with a cord. However the Corning cord from my Electromatic coffeemaker fit perfectly.
So my question is: A) Am I using the wrong cord? (Perhaps the platter cord was a resistive cord or a diode cord?).
B) Am I using the unit incorrectly?(ex: wrong platters)
C) In your experiences, is my experience normal? Perhaps these platters were very hot.
Your expert comments are very welcome!
