I've had a few of these over the years, but none with the "Cory Party Chef" designation, so I had to pick it up.

I took it home and prepared some Hamburger Helper (remember, I'm the guy who likes Formica ;-) and immediately remembered why I don't like these skillets: They get HOT, but they don't conduct the heat evenly, and they seem kind of cheap.

The Faberware skillets are much better to cook on, but you have to admit that these skillets do have the upper hand when it comes to style.

(sorry in advance if these pics are ridiculously large - I'm having problems with my photo software)

Fun stuff

I love picking up some vintage stuff. We all know well that not EVERYTHING vintage works well. But, as far as I'm concerned if I paid $5 for a fry pan and hate it, I've had my fun and off it goes to charity.
The styling is sooo cool that I'd hope you could come up with an alternate use. The "Party Chef" makes me think that its more presentation-grade than cooking grade. Maybe it'll be good for dumping in meatballs for a party or keeping beef hot.
CORY (made in Chicago) is a good brand though. I picked up an unused Mardi-Gras Coffee Set by CORY which is perfect for parties. I'm a big coffee person and try to pick CORY coffee stuff when I find it - and it isn't often.

More pics of the kitchen please (hell, the entire house if you can).

I love that style and time period!

Fun website Dan. The house looks great. We have such similar taste in everything fun. I just came back from some thrifting with a Polaroid Swinger avec box and paperwork as well as a nifty little Jet-O-Matic coffee perc. Camera's misfiring so I don't know if I'll be able to post a pic

And those things are not immersible for cleaning. Of course, with those legs and handles (hell, arms almost) sticking out in all directions it would not fit in a lot of sinks. As far as looks go, the Farberware 12" high dome buffet server on the round chrome base takes second place to nothing I've seen, especially at some pot luck dinners, where, ya know, you'd think that if they had it they'd haul it out for others to enjoy.
