were they any good though? did they dry relatively quick/well and were they reliable?
Maybe a little later
but just a year or so, if that. You may be able to identify the year from the serial number.
And the answers to your questions are yes, yes and yes. Although we did not have this exact variety of machine, they were popular here and widely sold. They have cropped up quite often in threads. As long as it is not too expensive it would be worth having

Yes and a Hoover Classic, this was based on the first "MatchBox" style dryer to match the re-styles washing machines, from the big 27inches 9lb load, to the 24inch model 9lb load...Its not reverse action but has a good airflow and two heat settings, High for cottons & robust fabrics and low for man made, synthetics & delicates!! The drums where a heavy vitreous enamel which retained heat and acted very like an iron smoothing the creases out of fabrics!! all you need is a plastic vent on the back!!

Your dryer is a merger of the first series cabinet & solid door and the 2nd series console with the larger control dial and glass see thru door!!!
