Despite replacing a very old original counter balance spring, my tub still seems to tilt forward. Seems a tad off centered during spin but during agitation it seems to center itself out.

In the past I always have had very strong counterbalance Springs which pulled the tub forward. That doesn’t seem to be the case with my new counter balance. I recently replaced the motor in my machine with a brand new one (3 speed) And it has the green stripe on it. So does that mean I need to purchase the green stripe counterbalance spring? From my research the only way to get that is purchasing the three pack. I have always just use the regular counter balance but maybe I need to get the green one?

The part I am referencing is 285901

Thank you for your reply. Yes I have seen that video. I just need to know if I have to use the black and green spring since the motor has the green stripe? How is this black/green spring different than the regular one?

Thank you, Glen. That is what I thought, but was a little confused because Whirlpool doesn't seem to sell the blue/green stripped cb individually. Checking sears parts direct it says 'Counterweight Spring (Red) 388492'. I'm not sure if something changed over the years, but my new 3-speed motor definitely has the green lines on it.
