I scroll through craigslist several times a day and saw a post for a wringer washer for sale in Ellensburg, with an on line capture of a Speed Queen. A few days went by and the picture and description changed with a close up of just the timer. I recognized the washer instantly, my neighbors had the same machine. After some texting I stopped to look at the washer and found out it belonged to the estate of a friend of mine so they gave it to me.

Friends Indeed

I have a friend who lives not too far away and works in town. He offered to swing by the estate sale and pick up the washer and delivered it last night.

Visi-Matic

The rolls are in great shape and the top of the wringer has chrome details. The chrome belly strap has come off and will need to be reattached. It's currently adorning the wringer.

So Far So Good

The machine runs quietly, the wringer tightens, releases and moves, the agitator is smooth and the timer advances and stops the motor. When I am stronger and when its warmer, I'll do the water test and find out how the pump is. We had white out snow that night that knocked out sattelite TV and internet while the rest of the week is going to be cold.

I confess

Not a Craiglister, so passed right by till I saw your name. And then of course, I stopped immediately! WHAT A FIND. New thread title:
Turn of the Decade Visimatic. :'D

How wonderful, Kelly. The tub style is just like Bradross's newly found '48, but his ad showed no Visis available then, (unless......his ad was for all KM Wringers, except the Visi, but I doubt it). And so far everything works. Great news. Betting that the pump will follow suit. Welcome to the small and growing Visimatic Club. Seems you have the first and only! Congrats.

Glad you're on the road to getting stronger. Can you take a peek at the model number so we can determine the year?

Cleaned up, you'll have a really nice machine to play with and reminisce about your Mom's Maytag Wringer. Still remember the interesting story of her washing rituals you posted long ago.

Our weather has been nuts too, a mild winter UNTIL.....a foot and more of snow warned for lake effect areas tonight on the first day of Spring. Gotta love Mother Nature doing exactly as she pleases.

Wipe Out

Its clean, but the satellite is down during the stormy weather and I don't know how to post pictures from the cell phone.

Bulbous Monstrousity

The first Visi-Matic was big, fat, bulbous and had a silver bar off the end that looked like the agitator shift bar. I think the more squared off version came in 54, but that isn't based on any fact, just memory.
