Just got myself a Hotpoint Credaplan semi integrated Washer/dryer, does anyone know the reason for the 4 shock absorbers.

4 as oppsed to what, 2? Four give far better stability.

Possibly a more expensive model also if it's semi-integrated into a built-in kitchen or laundry you really don't want the machine shaking your cabinets!

Sure to be a very sturdy machine anyway with 4 shocks vs 2! I wonder why Hotpoint/Creda only implemented this on this machine?

Asko "Quattro" washers have had four shock absorbers for ages, as have many commercial and or quasi such front loaders.

As Asko markets their machines, four shocks (in theory) provide more stability than two.

Think it's to do with it being set back, ie a slim depth at the bottom to allow for the pipe work at the rear & for the plinth at the front. So yes 4 shocks makes more sense to add more stability during spin drying.

A new pressure switch! Can tell you that because they had bigger white ones when made. Now I LOVE the red drawer housing and now just show us the front!

Well done Craig, a fab washer and dryer, old school Hotpoint dryer one of the fastest on the market, and the added benefit of 4 shocks, deffo required when built into your units and low down as well for extra stability...

Nowthen , stop teasing and show us that front view, controls as well please ha ha!!

I've noticed something disturbing, where is the hose that goes to the wash drum vent at the top center rear of the machine that then trickles down the condenser? I just see the hose that goes from the dispenser to the flushing jet.

The hose from the cold water condensing solenoid valve enters just below the top side of the vent that is hidden out of view by the top back panel. If you look closely at this pic you can just about make out that there is 4 hoses coming up from the solenoids, the condensing 1 is the furthest away & is tucked under the edge of the side panel.

good washer dryer, when I asked optima 4 the date code on this, the serial number is 86138283 so date code 86 means it was in fact made in February 1993, so it still looks good 4 20 years lol

What is up with Creda placing the motors for their washing machines on top?

Where's the front pic? For a machine that's 20 yrs. old, it's in remarkable condition.

@launderess the motor is on top because this machine is made by Hotpoint, who was by then Creda's parent company. Instead of tinkering with an already perfect design they just stuck to the drawing board and altered the cabinet to suit building in.

@miele4life you are correct about date code 86 being February 1993 without a doubt but this machine was not made in February 1993. Date code 86 in this case more than likely refers to February 2001 as this machine obviously inherits the post-1996 timer and internal design.
