These were kinda POS washers.  The wringer would pop if anything thicker than a handkerchief was put through it.

That IS the original black Filter Flo Straight-6 with a different cap on it. I wonder if Crosley violated a patent to do this or if they simply bought the part from GE.

The End of the Wringer Line

It was as late as the 90's when this machine was still available new in the stores. I remember one of the last independent appliance stores on Mineral Spring Road had a few on the floor. I was always tempted, but never bit. Was so curious about them, what sounds they made, etc.

Tim, did you see one in operation or is it from reports that you know about them?
