Anyone that uses D-Con rodent baits might wish to either stock up or look for something new. In response to pressure from the US government the UK maker of D-Con has agreed to stop selling it's more popular and powerful rodent pellet baits in the USA by 2015. Company has agreed not to ramp up production and or otherwise stockpile inventory. What is out there probably will be all she wrote.

Yet another government intrusion, and going after the wrong rat poison. The EPA should target bromethalin-based rat poisons, the most common brandname selling bromethalin is Tomcat.  Bromethalin is a neurotoxin that is 98% fatal once symptoms occur - who wants their kids to get into that? Also, wildlife will still get exposed by eating poisoned rats and mice. I really hope this doesn't increase sales of bromethalin rat poisons which are far more dangerous than anticoagulant-based rat poisons.

David....

Without counting that antidotes for such anti-coagulant poisons (vitamin K) are quickly found in any pharmacy, while for other poisons such as bromethaline you better have an hospital near you and pray! Because seems it does not exist an antodote, and if it does you will not find it over the corner for sure!
