Damage to porcelain oven lining

Late 60s Magic Chef gas range.
I keep my oven very clean and scrub it once a week or so, and the glass window almost daily. The entire time I have used this oven, it has always had white specks in the porcelain. It is supposed to be all grey. The specks end where the door seal is. That leads me to believe that the damage is heat related. Anytime I wipe out the oven, and the porcelain is wet, it has no specks. Once it dries they come back. Has been this way for years. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Scrubbing is no use.

Looks like abrasion--do you use gritty cleaners or steel wool/ScotchBrite?

I don't have the answer, but post a picture with the door closed I want to see what the chef looks like.

Often gas ovens with a standing pilot will have an etched porcelain interior because of the acidic vapors condensing on the porcelain.

Best stove i've ever had. Loaded with options. Fully automatic oven, automatic burner with exact temperature settings. The other 3 burners have simmer and keep warm settings. Chrome top. Fluorescent back panel. Cooked many great meals with it. Like everything in my kitchen, I keep it waxed and sparkly.

That makes perfect sense. I kind of figured the only remedy would be new porcelain. Its by far the worst on the door. On the oven liner its self, its not easily noticed.

That's quite a stove. If you're picky, you might get the door re-porcelained.
