Help Support :

wow

i love it!
reminds me a lot of my old Hitachi machine which worked on the same principle, check out the link below for videos!
The ticking timer would drive me insane, it was annoying on the video, is it really that loud?
Still a very powerful wash action and a fairly long spin between wash and rinse, love it, great machine.
Matt

Actually, Matthew the ticking isn't that loud-The camcorder magnified the sound-but it CAN be annoying-although I've learned to tune it out.

Danby

Hi Commodorejohn,
Is Danby a stand alone brand over there or is it a rebadged other brand. i.e.L.G. Samsung or someone like that?
Cheers.
Steve.
P.S. I see from some of your posts that you are a bit of a Haier fan, I will have to post a few pictures of my Haier Twintub for you to see.

It's a Haier-made product rebadged as a Danby. Danby doesn't actually MAKE any products that I'm aware of. And yes, HOW COULD YOU TELL I like Haier products? Their quality is unsurpassed as far as I'm concerned. People can grumble about Chinese products, but I think Haier is an exception-and I own a bunch of them! I've never had one need service yet-although I don't abuse my machines either! Yes, I would love to see your Haier twin-tub--I wonder how similar it is to my Danby (Haier-made) twin-tub. Mine has a standard-type vertical agitator. In the US, Haier is just becoming a "known" brand- for years they've made products on contract to other companies under THEIR names. I'm looking forward to seeing your pics. CommodoreJohn.

Thank you for making and sharing all of the videos. Do the holes in the agitator catch lint? They probably add to the turbulance of the wash action. My 4.2 lb Haier has just the impeller. I believe an agitator would be better, but that is just my thinking from having grown up using tumble action machines and agitator action top loaders. As far as cleaning, if something could not be cleaned in your Danby/Haier, it might just come clean washed with some STPP to fortify the detergent in a front loader with the capability to heat the water close to 200F, things like T shirts with anti-perspirant buildup in the underarm area.

I am glad that you have had good experiences with this brand. Friends with the dishwasher have not had such luck (motors gone after 3 years) and on the Laundry Room Forum, the tumbler washers have been reported as unreliable, suffering early failures. Maybe that is changing.

Tom, the lint trap on this paricular machine is WORTHLESS. It agitates too fast and so anything it collects, it just throws back out into the water. It comes out of the agitator "inside-out" with nothing in it. They would've been better with a Tub-Mount screen on this machine. My VERY FAVORITE portable washer is the Haier-built AVANTI 798S 12lb capacity machine. I had one which is in Ross's collection now, and decided to order another. It's the BEST small automatic I've ever come across. It'll be delivered tomorrow afternoon. Photos and video will follow in a few days. This is an incredible washer. As far as Haier dishwashers and front-loaders, I've heard the same about the quality. Hopefully they're getting better-I know Haier makes a full line of FULL-SIZE dishwashers now as well. And yes, you are correct about the Neptune TL-whether there was some type of a joint effort between Haier and Maytag in developing the product I'm not sure, but it WAS, in fact, built in SC. The Maytag distributor here in Phoenix told me parts shouldn't be a problem if I get one.
