Date my G.E. Range

I adore my General Electric double oven electric range (other than the sensi-temp burner that stopped working) but can't for the life of me figure out what year it is.
The Model numbers are: J CP 68 OV1WH, it has no plugs so might be after 72? The house was built in 1950 . . . basically I want to find a manual, parts numbers or replacement parts (I'd just as soon not keep the sensi-temp burner and replace it with a standard coil, but will take working any way I can get it).

I'm going to suggest that the stove was manufactured in September 1976.  1976 was the first year that GE used the three-letter prefix for stoves/ranges, and the code reflected the type of primary oven in the range.  This model is JCP - the P indicates a P7 self-cleaning oven.  The serial number SZ, according to GE's website is for Sept. 1976.  That would also account for the lack of a convenience outlet (1975 was the last year).  I do not have a 1977 catalog, but the 1978 catalog shows a very different backsplash from this one.

 

Anyone else have a suggestion?

Very nice range. Kudos for recognizing the treasure that you have and working to keep it. You more than likely only need to replace the Sensi Temp switch with an infinite switch.

I would advise you to be very judicious in the use of the self-cleaning feature. Keep heavy duty foil on the floor of the oven AWAY from the terminal for the bake element and clean the other surfaces with a wet cloth and spray cleaner. The self-cleaning process was very hard on the porcelain oven liner which, I hope, is still in good shape.

Im drooling over that stove

That is and always has been my favorite GE stove. I love the burner set up, giving you useable counter space, and the versatility of the two sized ovens. Most of the time, you do not need the space of the large oven and would have the smaller one as an option. It is more useable than the button-controlled burners they used previously. Again drool.
