Afternoon guys. I want to know the age of mine and my friends Hotpoint Empress washers. Could anyone find out through the number on the plate? The cream machines number is CK 520214 and the white one is CK 765608. They are both wringerless. Cream machine has octagonal tub with an agitator that has a scooped base between the fins. White machine has blue enamel tub, with plastic filter, underneath a regular looking agitator with four holes, one between each fin. When I was cleaning the cream machines agitator which looked like it hadn't been used in a very long time, it had washing powder crusted onto the agi, it smelled wonderfull. I can only describe it as a chemical scent from maybe the 60's or 70's. The white machine must have last been used recently, as there was a little water in the bottom, all yellow and stinking of egg. Both wringers work, althoug I'm going to go to a bearing maker and see if they have anything I can slot into the bottom bearing of the crusted up cream machine. The white machine seems to have a very tight spring. I have wrung a wet towel, rolled lengthways , and the safety catch still didn't slip. Waa quite dry too.

I'm having a guess, but I reckon the cream machine is from about 1958-59? And the white machine from about 1965 ish. Just a guess :-)
