Daylight Savings/Eastern Standard Time

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

Here in Arizona there is NO daylight savings.....really great not having to switch all the clocks....just have to remember that now not on same time with California and East Coast only 2 rather than 3 hours ahead.....

Farmers cried long and hard to their elected representatives and had the DLST extension cut back from the proposed one month extension in the spring and fall. The farmers say that the cows are not ready to be milked in the dark.
Well, milk them when the sun comes up.
AH! We can't do that because we have to be at our other jobs in town by that time.
So, you are not a full time farmer?
Well, of course, when it comes to getting agricultural subsidies and not wanting DLST, but with my other job, no.

As far as the computer people saying it will be too much of a hassle to change the time on computers, they are full of it. Any number of times a month, Microsoft has an update for me. You can't tell me that changing the clock in computers is such a great task that we should be stuck with the curent time period for DLST. I have a weird clock radio with all sorts of programming that makes it impossible for me to use as a wake up device, but it sets itself automatically from the atomic clock in a big lab somewhere and, sure enough, it did. I watched it go from 1:59AM to 1:00AM.

I don't know what it is....

But my perception is opposite of what it should be, I think.

Whenever we roll back the time, and night time "starts earlier", to me, the day in its entirety becomes MUCH LONGER.

I don't know why that is, you would think the sensation would be that the days seem shorter and seem to fly by faster. But my perception is that the entire day--and night--seem to be longer.

Does anyone else have this odd perception? My wife feels the same way.

I'm in agreement with standard time.. I love it... It simplfies life and makes time seem more precious.
Christmas is just a stones throw. I'm getting chills just thinking of it.

I like Central Standard Time, mainly because you can party hard when it's dark and pull an "all-nighter"! But that's a different story...;-)

I can't wait to "step into Christmas" when December rolls around...Christmas has been my favorite holiday for a LONG time (of course when is Christmas NOT anyone's favorite holiday?). Great time to crank up the heat when it's cold and really appreciate the steam from the hot-water washes, not to mention all the presents! :)

I would rather have extreme cold than extreme heat, but honestly, I would take a tropical/beach climate any day! One of the reasons why I plan on moving out to California after college and graduate school, depending on what I end up doing! A friend (from school and work) visited San Diego and made their way to LA in early September, and she said the weather had already started getting cooler and more "breezy" by then...nice! Jaune, how is it out there now?

I can also say there's good "winter food" as well...hot chili is one of my favorites!

started work at maccas at 7 instead of 8 & only got 2 hours sleep!

I would like to meet whoever invented daylight savings :-(

We had a nice little chill come through last week but now we're getting into the high 70s again. Come on cold weather! I can't wait to flick the thermostat over to "heat".

The holidays has started. WOOHOO!!!!! YAY!!!
