Hey everyone, my '65 'Tag dryer was making a squeaking noise and finally got a minute to pull the back off to see if I could tell what all the fuss was about. I nearly died when I found all the metal shavings on the bottom of the pan. The drive pulley bushing has pretty much chewed itself to pieces. I'm bumming big time. I have been looking online for a new drive pulley but not having any luck what-so-ever. Would anyone be able to steer me in the right direction to possibly find a replacement? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

DE 702 parts help

Every place I have looked either doesn't recognize the model number or they say parts are NLA. Here is a picture of the dryer from the front.

MT PULLEY

I assume you need the idler pulley you may need to replace the shaft also if it is worn or scored. The parts are NLA but you can use the idler and shaft from any HOH dryer you can also take the worn pulley & shaft to a machinist who make a new bearing and re-machine the worn shaft oh the fun of classic appliances.

Pulley in stock

These folks seem to have your pulley in stock; the slide and shaft may not be however...

Pulley part# 300840
Slide and shaft 300831

That pulley isn't cheap, but may be cheaper than using a machinist. Hopefully they have it.

Good luck!

...and those are the part numbers as listed for a later HOH

...just to be clear. Hopefully the pulley is the same part number. I'd look on the pulley for a number. It might be stamped as 3-840.

Awesome Andrew, thanks for the info! that definitely helps to have some part numbers to work with.

You are welcome Mark!

I hope one of these suppliers or maybe an AW.org member can get you one. Either way, I wouldn't throw the old ones out as they may be able to be refurbished at a later time when these are even harder to get.

Good luck!

Andrew S.
