I realize we are at the end of the A/C season, but StereoConsole asked me to send him pics of the 1971 Chrysler Airtemp unit that I have.
He asked me how it stays in the window with out falling out. Upon taking the pic of the frame that it sits in I thought to myself that It's ashame no one continued with this design. This same mounting frame held 6,000 - 18,000 BTU Imperial and Custom Models.
Check out the simplicity of it's design. There is no need for support from underneath and screwing brackets into the house. And as we all know , back in 1971 they were making all these babies out of STEEL and man,,, were they heavy.
