I realize we are at the end of the A/C season, but StereoConsole asked me to send him pics of the 1971 Chrysler Airtemp unit that I have.
He asked me how it stays in the window with out falling out. Upon taking the pic of the frame that it sits in I thought to myself that It's ashame no one continued with this design. This same mounting frame held 6,000 - 18,000 BTU Imperial and Custom Models.
Check out the simplicity of it's design. There is no need for support from underneath and screwing brackets into the house. And as we all know , back in 1971 they were making all these babies out of STEEL and man,,, were they heavy.

I can't believe that little frame held a big ole AC unit! Very interesting. I'm glad AC season is finally winding down it's been in the mid 80's here, and I haven't used the AC in about two weeks.

My AC is a Climette it's supposed to be both a heater and AC in one unit, but the heater doesn't work. I need to take out of its shell and clean it really well before using it next summer. We live next to a redi-mix company and the trucks are always coming and going stirring up a lot of dust. I just dread taking it out and putting it back in again.
