Last tuesday me and my frient made a trip to Croatia to buy some Tide detergent which is not available here in Slovenia. I've made a few pictures of the detergent aisle. I would have done more but I was afraid that someone would kick me out. (I had no problems, but you never know.)
Some pictures were taken in Croatia and some here in Slovenia.

Wow. thats pretty extensive. That LUNA looks interesting. We had a product here in the U.S. called VANISH that was/is a toilet-bowl cleaner. APART is a funny name. I get a vision of my clothes melting away. What is that CALGON product? Are any of those soap-flakes?

Please give us a tour down the aisle. Which ones are good and which not so good, etc.

Despite it's right next to Italy, other than a few products, all the others are different! Just think of Tide (Dash here I guess) and Persil/Dixan! But I love to see AVA! It was my favourite detergent, a neighbour used it and I remind the smell from when I was 3, figures!

I love that you have a big choice of powders, here some smaller supermarkets have relegated the powders in a corner at the end of the shelves and there are just 6-7 to choose from!

GYRAFOAM: Calgon is and additive that reduces water hardness, it promises a longer washing machine life. Former slogan was "La lavatrice vive di più con Calfort" (the washing machine lives longer with Calfort) now, with the new name Calgon they stopped the slogan, at least here in Italy.

I see the DASH - picture #2, 4th shelf from the top, between the Calgon rack and the bottle of REX.

Great pics, there is quite an extensive offering!

When hurricane Katrina was poised to strike the U.S., Anderson Cooper of CNN was vacationing in Croatia (a gay-friendly destination on the other side of the world from the prying eyes of the tabloid cameras) and flew straight through to cover the disaster. I wonder if he brought home any detergents?? ;-)

Powders in large bags

Great pictures Ingemar,
I notice that the powders all seem to come in large bags rather than cardboard boxes which is pretty much the norm here in Australia, at least for now anyway, are the bags resealable or once opened would you need to store them in a container of some type?
Steve.

Calgon / Calfort

For dj-gabriele

Lo spot e il jingle del Calgon sono rimasti invariati, hanno solo sostituito il nome. Quel jingle è usato in tutta Europa, in Francia c'era già 16 anni fa.

They don't stopped the spot. The jingle is the same. They only change the name. That jingle it's used in all Europe from about 16 years.

Any liquid Tide on the store...................

Ingemar, abbiamo avuto veramente un bel viaggio martedì scorso. Grazie! Dobbiamo andare ancora una volta, non appena possibile. Che peccato, non c'è nessun liquido Tide sulle foto .......... :-( Ma io so perché! Erano tutti nel nostro carrello :-)))))))) MIAOOOOOOOO

ciao, Ricky

Any liquid Tide on the store...................

Ingemar, we had really a nice trip tuesday. Thanks!! We have to go again, as soon as we can. What a pity there isn't any liquid Tide in your pictures............. :-((( But I know why!!! They were all in our cart :-)))))))

Ciao, Ricky

Hi Gyrafoam,
yes the LUNA range of detergents, both, powders and liquids are great. I like it very much. I also like the new DUEL.
APART is a special detergent for curtains. Indeed it has a funny name :))
The slogan for Calgon is all over the same, even the jingle is quite the same. It is just translated. In Slovenia is: "Da pralni stroj bo dlje živel dodaj Calgon!" In Germany: Waschmaschinen leben länger mit Calgon! :)) Check this out, here you can see all the translations: http://www.calgon.com/

funny names : apocalyptic detergents

FINISH (aka Calgonit - R.-B.) ... LAST (italian hand-dishwashing liquid - Boltonhomecare.com)

One assumes that washing up leads to the end of the world *LOL*

Wasn't aware that Omino Bianco (little white man) were a whole european stuff and not only in our market. Just another funny name ...
