I noticed fairly recently that some detergent products have had their "Irritant" label reclassified as "Corrosive".

One such is Finish Liquid Gel Dishwasher detergent.

Another is Tesco's Wool / Silk detergent, which is supposed to be for delicates!

Easy Dishwasher tablets are another. I thought it odd at the time, since tablets have always been classed as "irritant". Only the large format metasilicate powders (e.g. Lever Bros' "SUN") were labelled as corrosive.

somehow, its always been there, but not really noticed until something has happened....

or someone has sued the company for mis-use, and they had to add a clause....

things you wouldn't think of....

liquid body soap, one time the bottle fell over and leaked out across a painted metal shelf...and ripped the paint right off....

Tang, yeah the morning drink that Astronauts used, its been known to add a tablespoon of the powder to your dishwasher, to keep it clean.....think of what it does to you insides!

CocaCola will eat paint too......

to me, just basic home remedies, or substitutes.....

Here is a link. The 10:00am talk discussed it.

Last Christmas, the Finish Liquid Gel detergent disappeared from my local Tesco. It took a good few months to reappear. When it did, the labels had modern design, and the labels were switched; i.e. where the front label was situated, was now the back label, and vice versa - complete with the "Corrosive" moniker.
