Help Support :

oh my......

LOL ROFL LMAO

Speaking of itchy and scratchy.

Want to torture someone? Put bleach in the softener dispenser of a whites load.

All that bleach in your underwear, and not rinsed out.

Did it once by mistake when doing my laundry in my aunts Italian front-load comob-o-matic washer/dryer

color retention

Here's one for Laundress, Venus and Daniele in Italy. HI!!!

Wasn't there some hype at one time about products that neutalized cholorine in water to help with color retention?

What chemical was that?

Thanks ladies and respondents in general. Molto Grazie.

I have used Cheer "Dark" for about a year now and cannot tell a bit of difference in how much fading occurs in my dark clothes. I guess enough of it does not stay in the water for the rinse cycle to neutralize all the chlorine in the water, and Atlanta metro water is LOADED with chlorine!

The directions call for use in a cold water wash----which would certainly cut down on fading anyway, but I would question its ability to clean really greasy clothes that way.

In any event, when this bottle is gone I won't bother to buy more.

cheap detergents.

Have a friend and his wife who are cheap, cheap ,cheap.
Saw a jug of the nastiest, cheapest laundry detergent on the face of the planet sitting on the washer.

Load of washed whites were piled in (and above) the laundry basket.

They were so *unintentionally* uniformly yellow (unlike that flea-bay auction prior post which is a whole other story).

screamed either or both:

1) bad techinque
2) soil is not suspended and flushed away, but rather re-deposited.

Ii there a bigger clue that one is buying water with scent and color and suds, not decent detergent?

I was a good boy and kept my mouth shut!

cehalstead----if you're inclined to peruse Consumer Reports, they usually list which detergents tend to cause less (or more) bleeding/fading of colors. I believe there was a detergent review a few months back...in the same issue as the washer/dryer review, IIRC.
