Could someone tell me if this agitator will fit in a Whirlpool direct drive washer? Model GSW9800PW2.

Not really. That agitator is for a coin op washer that has one water level and standard capacity.
Agitator For A DD Washer
It will fit and work just fine, however the original 2 piece agitator will turn over a larger load.
