Got a call from the wonderful Tom Anderson who rescued these from obscurity and offered them to me. He already has a set just like this, and they are such fun to play with. Thanks Tom!!

Hoover washer, really one the the best twinnies ever designed.......

This is the Deluxe model with the automatic rinser.

Tom even had the original operating manuals and was very generous to offer them with the set!

They arevery interesting to read and the operating instructions for the automatic rinser in the washer is quite detailed...........

Great find! Contgrats, especially on the dryer. Always wanted one of those Hoover dryers, but would only use them out on a porch as they vent directly into the room, and don't want all that heat and lint scattered about.

Hoover twinnies go for next to nothing or for big bucks, depends on who wishes one and for what. Have seen several on eBay languish with no bidders, others go for a decent price. Gave about $50 or so for my near MIB 0512 unit, indeed it cost more to ship the thing. With cheap Asian import portable washers, and decent enough offerings from Kenmore/Whirlpool,and GE one really has to have a "thing" for using a twin tub washer. While fun, they are labour intensive and very noisy.

I'm so glad you have it. The automatic rinse which is a true marvel to behold--you'll be shocked when you figure out how it works--makes using it less labor intensive than Laundress's.

The spin is so over the top that your best jeans that you need right now will be out of the dryer in minutes. A big dryer, that is, not the little guy.

Whenever you need something ten minutes ago, nothing can beat a Hoover. Aworg scout's honor.

The paradox with Hoover twinnies is that even though they can't wash a large amount at a time, what they can manage gets done very quickly. Two-odd months after pressing mine into service, I still find myself overloading the tub and having to fish out the odd item to make the damn laundry turn over properly!

The rinsing is very handy though - you can leave the machine to get on with it instead of having to pop the lid open and hose the load down all the time. I'm now in the habit of carrying on with other housework whilst the Hoover runs, stopping every now and then to attend to its needs.

Have lots of fun with them both! The Portable (and the Packard too!) are both beauts - you wouldn't believe what the last Portable went for in the UK! See the link below, and be prepared to pop your eyes back into their sockets...

No offense intended, but I personally would like to see more pics of the Packard behind the Twinnies in the first 4 pics.

Looks like one of the end-of-the-line Packards. A '56 or '57 maybe? My Grandfather and Father loved 'em. Many childhood memories standing in the floor of the back seat watching the world go by.

Its a 1955 Packard Patrician, rather rare model in that it was a very late end of the year build, and has 1956 side trim on it even though its a 1955 model. According to a documented letter I have from the Packard Club this was done on a handful of end of the model year cars to help sell them.
