I am getting a lid open error on my washing machine. I want to disable the lid lock. I was able to open it up to gain access to underneath the console and found the hinge lock. But my reading says there is a secondary sensor in the front right corner. I believe I found where that sensor is, can anyone walk me through how to disable it?

Its actually super easy to find the magnetic sensor in your MC washer. Its on the 3 o'clock position in some models, 3 o clock in others. Open the lid and you'll see the magnet.to. years it, you can stick a magnet to it or jump the wires.

I have a Magic Chef Portable Washer, MCSTCW16W4. If you figure out how to do this, can you post pictures. My sensor still works, but it is annoying to pause it each time I need to add something or check the load (it’s not always easy to see through the top).

Magnetic switch on front right corner.
I can't seem to find the magnetic lock, I think it maybe is missing?
In the first picture, the lever lock is visible on the right side. I have the whole top of the washer flipped up - I hope these pictures make sense.
Second picture is of what would be the front right corner when it's assembled. The curved white plastic cut out, between the two beige boxes, is where I think I was expecting the magnetic lock to be. The top of this picture is the front edge of the machine, the beige box on top is the electronics of the control panel.
Third picture is wiring and electronics along the right side of the machine.
If the lid to the machine is open, POWER -> START beeps immediately that the lid is open. If the lid is closed, there is a 1-2 second delay between pressing START and a beeping E3 error. Lid open, manually pressing the lever lock as far as it will go, and the error happens immediately.
What am I missing?
None of the repair companies I have contacted have responded, and there is water and wet clothes sitting in the drum. I'd like to be able to drain the drum at least.

they used to glue a wiring diagram inside the back access panel.....
or there may be one inside.....
can't be sure, as your machine looks different than the one I bypassed....all of my controls are under the touch pad.....
how about on the lid, there has to be a magnet of some sort mounted in there to activate the switch....

I think at some point some of these machines ahd the switch integrated in the hinge of the lid.
So just jumping that should work... Is Picture 1 left bottom that long plastic piece maybe a combination OOB switch lid lock?

So looking at the parts list there is no seperate lid switch.
So my guess it is either on the PCB (either on the front LCD assembly or on the main controller) or in the hinges or in the "impact switch" (the OOB switch, the long plastic thing - though unlikely).
So just jumping that should work... Is Picture 1 left bottom that long plastic piece maybe a combination OOB switch lid lock?

Mine has a magnet on what would be the left front of the machine lid if I am standing in front of it. I have not found a way to bypass it.

on most Magic Chef machines, there are two lid switches....I am not familiar if they have locks....one mechanical, one magnetic....
I had to splice in and run wires, also attaching two switches to the back of the machine to bypass both....

Here are some pictures of the lid and top. On the corner is a small mark that, when closed, lines up about on the small jutting out part on the front right (pictures 2 and 3). Neither of these respond to a magnet, and there is nothing attached to the underneath of the jutting out part. I've run a magnet along everywhere I can find and it's not reacted to anything.
Simple, use a magnet!
Start the washer, open the lid
The magnet has to be somewhat strong then, slowly, slide the magnet all over the sides of the frame, where the lid touches it.
Even easier, pass the magnet through the lid frame, it will stick to the magnet that is in the frame.
Once you find it, double check by placing the magnet exactly where it would normally be positioned.
My bet is that the magnetic switch is hidden by the PCB, somewhere near the 3 o'clock position. At least that's where solidworks would suggest me to put it to save wiring.

I'm glad I was able to help!
Now, you can stick a magnet to the sensor under the cover, (so you don't have a sight interference). Just use any tape to secure a magnet in place.

Do you mind posting a full operation video? I had a previous MC model bought new and I loved it for almost 5 years. Now I kinda miss a MC washer (they're great, even being my competitor).
I'm curious to see it it performs somewhat similar to the older model.

I plan to put a magnet under the top, but it looks like I might have to raise the top panel and maybe access the plastic housing underneath. I also plan to do some more videos of the wash action. I don't have any special equipment other than my phone...not even a tripod, i have to hold the camera steady during the whole cycle. Maybe I can come up with something when it slows down. It washes small items well and clothing well. My first thought was I need to do another video!
I know where the part is that might allow more water in the tub, but it looks like inexpensive plastic that might break easy. I just add 2 gallons of water for my large (3/4 tub water).

Don't even bother trying to mess with the pressure switch.
That SOAB is completely eco-nazi.
You raise the water level (it will be a pain because a millimetric touch on the screw will make the washer overflow) but yes, after a few hours fighting with it you eventually may find a decent water level.... then it runs a cycle beautifully.
Next time you use it, the water level goes back to the exact same "factory" level
I also noticed that, even using less water (3/4 of the tub), it has a great performance (both washing and rinsing). Of course, respecting the 1.6 cu ft my model was.

I'm having exact same issue with my MC washer. Sadly, the video that OP made is no longer available. Is the magnet really at 3 o'clock in right side?
