*LOL*

Here's me with tons of housework to get done and *NOT* the mood. Whilst dusting the bookcases that hold our CD collection came upon "Endless Summer -Donna Summers Greatest Hits".

Popped the CD into the DVD player, and am shaking my groove thing while I clean! Now if someone would bring me a rum and coke, or vodoka and orange, or Long Island Iced Tea......

Disco 4 ever

I prefer cosmopolitans with either Gray Goose or Skyy vodka. That way,if I decide to finish off a couple fifths,I get no hangover and can easily do my work all of the following day.If it's made with Fleischmans or any of the other lower shelf vodkas,I have to take the following day off and drink tomatoe or cranberry juice all day.My favorite song is Macarther Park (long version)and I also enjoy Last Dance. But,I'll dance to the entire double album at the pool doing aqua arobics for two hours every Monday,Wednesday and Friday here at our local public pool.yesterday, they were playing Madona's greatest hits and some of K.C. and the Sunshine Band.

Endless Summer! There's a corker of an album! Remember buying that one when I was 18...well worth the embarrassment factor I felt at the checkout!

Question is...do YOU work hard for the money?

Screw the housework, I say...

Disco definitely lives in this quarter - most Saturday mornings for the last year or so have been spent flitting between my two long term loves - the washers and good ol' fashioned disco. I may well be only as old as the music itself but somehow it's the only thing that works when fun is required. Maybe I was conceived to a disco beat circa christmas 1978? The one major drawback is that the current club music does almost nothing for me, so a night on the tiles can be a very lacklustre affair...guess I'll just have to keep on enjoying my own private dance space at home - at least there's no-one to judge my dancing abilities!

Here's a tune that's got me moving in the last couple of sessions...

And remember, if it's not your thing - judge not lest ye be judged!

And just for good measure, another little something that actually made my legs move (no mean feat, let me assure you).

Apologies to those who groan at YouTube song links. I'll try not to do it again!

Alex

I Feel Love!

Without a doubt, this is my FAVORITE song by Donna. Synthesized music is SOOOO cool. This is also an excellent driving song. Get out on the highway and crank it up!

Disco Heat was my fave of Sylvesters. I met him a couple of times waaaay back when he played at a disco I worked at. Good times, loud music, sweat and poppers yay. Pair of my old dance shoes

Good Lord

A couple of fifths of vodka in an evening?

I'd be out like a light after the 3rd shot...

Me, since my college days, I've always found that I could get going with boring things like cleaning or other housework by putting on a copy of Mozart's Haffner Symphony (#35 in D-Major - a great key for strings). For some reason it seems to drive those boring vibes right out of the house.

Call me old-fashioned, but I love this music of Mozart:

While I love disco I only listen to it very occasionally now as a sort of fun/reminiscing thing. My everyday music choices are classical and jazz and pop oldies like Motown. At the gym I listen to pretty much classical only. Handel organ concertos, Schumans piano concerto and some light operetta . I find I zone out to it and concentrate better than

My first time ever going to a bar

was indeed a gay disco in 1977 on Norfolk, VA. Every Saturday night, I got dressed up in my lime green leisure suit and platform shoes. Every hair was in place and I actually remember what cologne I was wearing which was Chaz. When I saw that dance floor covered with men dancing with each other, I knew I had arrived. Oh how I do missed those days.

Lookin for some hot stuff babe this evenin' ...

Launderess,
were you singing "Hot Stuff" while starting a boilwash in your W1070 ?? *LOL*

I can't believe you conjured up First Choice. That is one of my all time favorite songs! I always wanted to buy that record, but have never found it in the shops.

Back in 1973 a group of us went to a humongeous dance bar just north of downtown Chicago. I think it was in an old mansion. We had the time of our lives. But I wasn't there more than a few minutes and I realized that is was a mixed crowd. But they played that song and the beat just set the mood to the place. I never have seen a place that wild ever again!

I have quite a collection of High N'R'G' music from the era. In fact, I think I listen to it more than the modern crap we have today.

One of my favorite disco songs, but I was "forbidden" to buy the record probably because it had the word "Body" in it (and we all know it's such a dirty word lol)

And then

My mom turns around and lets me buy this 45.. (WTH?)

First word out of the singer's mouth? Body
