On thursday I received this email from our web hosting service:

Dear Customer,

We will be transferring your account to a new server that has fewer accounts. This transfer will result in better performance for your account. Your site will not have any downtime or lost emails.

The move is scheduled to take place in the next 24 hours. Please let us know if you would like the account to be moved at a specific off-peak period.

After the transfer has completed, you will be emailed your new critical account information. Once you received it, please login to your new server and verify that your site and account features are functioning properly. If there are no issues with the transfer, reply to this email to verify that we may remove your account from your old server.

48 hours after your account has been transferred, it will be terminated from the old server.

Thank you for your patience. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.

Well obviously it wasn't as smooth as they thought! I'll have to deal with them now. Most of the system is working, but Photos will not automatically resize until they get the proper Perl Extensions installed. I will probably have to deal with them on Monday.

Oh I forgot, I must have received 20 emails about this, so I will respond to all in this thread, thanks you guys/gals for letting me know. I haven't been on the computer since last night.

I re-read this post again about the pictures. If I understand correctly, the re-sizing feature won't work. But what if the images are *already* set at 1024 X 768 or smaller? Just wondering.

And my Frigidaire Dryer died today too!!

It really did...

And they just opened up a "Mr. Appliance" about 200 yards from me...

He wasn't there either. :-(

OK Now that I've rolled out a double crust pie dough and put my hamburber pot pie in the oven (I have a hungry man to deal with first) I came upstairs and put in a temporary fix to the code so we can upload photos. They wont automatically resize down to 1000x750 if they are larger than that but I hope to get that fixed next week after I deal with their tech support.

The picture below is just a test...

"How do you handle a hungry man?

The Man Handlers!"

Can't remember exactly what that jingle was advertising, but I can still sing it.

Thank you for fixing the picture problem! Now I can post the shots of the Wash-A-Matic I got at the Goodwill!

That ad line, veg, dear--

was from Campbell's Soups, in the late 60s,-early 70s, for some of the "heartier" varieties of the add water line, like their "minestrone."

OK After dealing with Technical Support I got them to load the Proper Perl Extensions loaded into this new server they plopped us down on. So I'm just testing to make sure the pictures downsizes automatically again.

Thanks Robert,

Gosh - theses "within 24 hours" no problems things are in the same class as "no tax increases...read my lips"
"of course I'll respect you in the morning" and
"I promise I won't..."well, we will skip that one.
I really appreciate all you do; I am endeared to you for getting things fixed...I was "top of the charts" on two of the three forums for a whole day and it was beginning to look like I done went and broke it meself.

OMG Louis, 2 months!!!! I've been very happy with Lunarpages.com, our ISP. Maybe the German Washer Site should look into having them host their website.

Here is the note I received overnight:

Dear Customer,

The ImageMagick perl module should be fixed now.
Please check and let us know if you are still receiving any errors.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the transfer.
