I wouldn't mind having that particular machine in my kitchen though, and I could think of one other "female design" on the front as well...but seriously, I like it because it's a Hobart KitchenAid! ;-)
We could put Toggle in the center square! I think he'd be just as good if not better as that funny guy from the 70's that used to sit there. Oh what's his name, he was also on Bewitched. The one with all the double meaning jokes.
The one in the center appears to be a closeup of a human breast. Goes to show that many places in the world have a more realistic and down-to-earth attitude about simple nudity than here in the US where the prudes would have a fit.
let us NOT forget paul lynde and charles nelson reilly. they had BALLS!! reilly is still around and performing. toggle, have you seen his act in NYC? David
I'm guessing that this is NOT a Canadian ad but is a European (French/Belgian) ad given the tagline in the ad which says something about "international class". Quebec has traditionally been slightly more Catholic dominated than the remainder of Canada, so I think the depiction of mammary glands would be just as scandalous there as in the US in the mid-70s.
Hollywood Squares was halarious, CNR was funny too...but Paul Lynde...one of a kind!
You can read more about Paul Lynde, from another site I "frequent" www.findadeath.com I am going to take his tour next time I get out to LA.
He is a scream!
There is a link somewhere in there that will take you some of the conversations that went on with the host and Paul during filming the gameshow. It is a riot! And this was the 70's!
Gawd I miss the 70's!
Togs...Sorry...*ahem*--In the future our chats will only be G-rated. Maybe a low PG-13.
Which one? Marsha, Jan, Carol Brady, or Mike Brady? LOL
Cindy was too young, so she doesn't qualify. And for the life of me right now, I can not remember the housekeepers name, but sure as I hit submit, I will remember it.
Quebecers prudes? Actually it's quite the opposite, way more tolerant than even most Europeans when it comes to all the vices. The reason being was that the Catholic church had a stranglehold on them for 300+ years but that all disappeared back in the 60's when the church began to lose its influence. I still think it's a Cdn ad and it does look familiar like I've seen it before.
That ad is just fabulous! How can you not just love that nipple dishwasher.
Exactly Pete, I've been to Montreal at least seven times and from what I remember (which isn't much after those trips) the boys in Quebec were the furthers thing from "conservative". They could teach us Americans a thing or two or twelve.
Unfortunately for us, if that ad ran in the US, the nipple dishwasher would be replaced with a machine gun dishwasher.
When I said it looked like the Brady Bunch squares, I meant the way the ad is set up. Toward the end of the intro, they place Alice in the center square. I think Mike would have liked being in the center.
And don't forget, Knots Landing had "squares" too in their intro. Nep
