do all 40 inch Flairs accept the vent on top?

saw sevral advertised complete Flairs that is.... lately.So if find one will it work only on specific year models? cause I downloaded an owners manual and it looked as if the sides of the flair top was all there...
didnt see a seam in the pictures.
cause one member on this forum here a while back, found such a unit and had friends go and buy just the vent for THEIR existing Flair..

most do

Most are set up for the hood accessory that was available from Frigidaire (internal wiring, etc). The exception might be the earliest models from 1960, and any of the "N" model series that had the venting as an option. It was enclosed behind the control panel (see the release lever on each side of the control panel?)

Hubby says he sees no place where it could attach or how... Please explain maybe show closeup pics please.
yeah I know I am hard headed LOL and kind of hard for me to visualize and comprehend... LOL

Hi Jean, 

I don't have any photos, but I've been through the vent hood installation dilemma with a 30-inch version of the Flair...   The hood unit itself is literally bolted onto the top of the range (and as mentioned, I think pretty much all models of the Flair have a power connector for a hood hidden under the top cover panel).  That was the easy part - getting the exhaust from the Flair hood fan to line up with the existing opening left when I removed the standard range hood was the problem...  The Flair hood exhaust was higher than the opening and to make it line up, I would have needed to remove a cupboard, take down drywall, reposition the ductwork for the exhaust hood, the rebuild drywall and install a cupboard that would fit the opening (but would no longer match the rest of the kitchen).  

 

I gave up...  LOL   I've been using my Flair for 2 years without a vent and honestly, it's not been a huge problem for me.  That being said, I cook very boring meals and watch them carefully so they don't burn or scorch.

edit: if it helps, the hood is operated by pulling the fan unit forward over the oven and surface units.
