I'm saying this because the fact is in 2003 my grandma purchased a indesit it had a timer (bit behind) but my grandpa purchased a hotpoint this had no timer and just 2 dials and buttons but that was more technologily advanced than the rubbish timer indesit brand new from currys that lasted 4 months until the PCB went but my grandpas hotpoint lasted until 2012 when he sold it on with my other grandma to get their also rubbish indesit Iwc6145s but back to 2003 all the other manufacturers had moved on to a more digital age . even today indesit are behind on the latest technology programme wise and control wise and even the drum and the tech that we cannot see. Do you think the same as me?

Technology

I don't think it is the technology you should worry about with indesit, more the build quality and remember that Hotpoint machines come out of the same factory as Indesit.

Buyer Beware

I'm not sure what you're actually asking here washerman, as your post is a little confused. Perhaps if you can explain your point a bit more clearly?

I don't think that Indesit as a group are necessarily behind on technology. Indesit the brand are, generally, treated as the low end brand, and as such will always get less higher end tech. In fact, given the build quality as electron1100 says, this may actually make the machines last a bit longer than some of the others.

Given some of the problems noted with Hotpoint and Indesit machines over the past few years, I think it'll take a little time for their quality reputation to improve. If I were them, I'd focus on that rather than flashy technology.

Perhaps they may not have been innovative like LG for example.

But I don't really think that Indesit are behind with technology. My thoughts have changed on them since purchasing my Hotpoint washing machine last month. I like how it self adjusts programme paremeter times, water etc. It's certainly impressed me and I'm a very fussy person when it comes to washing machines. I was always an AEG or Zanussi person but I don't like their machines that much now. The only complaint I have is that it can be a little fussy on the final spin as it wants to be perfectly balanced otherwise it spins at 1200rpm instead of 1400rpm but I do bear in mind that this is with a very heavy 9kg of towels and jeans, bedding etc.

With regards to reliability I have to disagree with them being unreliable. I know of 6 people with washing machines over 5 years old that are still going strong. Particularly one if my friends has a 7 year old Indesit and it's never needed a repair and it's still working as strong as the day she got it delivered from John Lewis. My parents have an 11 year old a Indesit tumble drier that still in use 3 times a week and never missed a beat.

We're all entitled to opinions and experiences and wanted to share mine.
