A report below shows that the tragic death of a woman caused by her tumble dryer had also been to blame for at least 20 other fires from the same model of dryer.
I don't know if it is just me, but any news stories like this and the appliance always seem to be a Beko (aside from the current Hotpoint recall).
I also remember Beko having an issue with their fridge freezers too; this really put me off them when shopping for a new fridge freezer even though Beko was the most competitively priced with the features they provided.
The news report goes on to say that the woman turned off her dryer at the mains, but apparently doing this would not have stopped the fire?
That is really scary. Of course, all appliances have the tendency to go wrong, but when researching appliance fires it is consistently Beko that comes up the most.
May the woman who died RIP and sympathies to her family.
