Hello:
I won an eBay auction which was sort of a "boxed lot" of items. It included a stack of S&H green stamp saver books, and also Trible S blue stams. There are also some unused stamps.
I collect so much stuff, that these are not something I need to keep.
If you would like them, please email me in April of 2007. I'd love to send them to you,

They're Still Redeemable!

S&H Green Stamps can still be redeemed- they never expire. The company is now called S&H Greenpoints; they now offer online loyalty points instead of stamps. But you can call their Customer Care centre for more info on redeeming stamps; it is:

S & H Greenpoints
Customer Care Center
PO Box 4000
Fenton, MO 63099
1-800-435-5674 (M-F 8 am-8 pm ET)

Other stamps, like Gold Bond, Holden, Red Scissors, and Plaid, are also redeemable through Gold Bond. The address to write is:

Gold Bond Stamp Co.
Attn: Mail Order Dept.
1405 Xenium Lane North
Plymouth, MN 55441

Hi there. I remember S& H green stamps and also
Plaid Stamps...they were a competitor. You got them at the
supermarket as a reward for buying your groceries there.

No kidding...

When I was young and growing up in the Houston area I always went to the Brookshire Bros. store with Mom. We always bought alot there and after each transaction the checker would give us quite a few of the S & H stamps. I had a particular lawn sprinkler I remember wanting pretty badly and we saved up I'm sure at least a thousand or more stamps. The day I was finally ready to redeem them and get my prize we found out that S & H was no longer in business. I guess they are back now. that was at least 20 years ago.

HA! I never knew you could redeem them! My family is Canadian, my Mom says that she did not get green stamps, however, if you saved cash register receipts you could get special items for buying certain things. We still have 4 melmac bowls from buying a certain laundry detergent (which they don't make anymore), and mom also got an entire set of dishware that looks like franciscan starburst however it is not eliptical or as thick. My sister found and gave me the same entire set of dishware for my wedding gift. We use it as the "good china".

So now what do I spent what is probably 12 whole cents of green stamps on? There are two and a half full books, and some assorted stamps. There are approximately 20 empty books with a cute 60's family on the front. Mom dad and of course sis and little brother. Any takers?

Current Worth

If I remember correctly, the current cash redemption rate I've read about for old Green Stamps is $0.01 per stamp, or a dollar per thousand. You could probably get more accurate info by getting in touch with S&H.

We saved S&H green stamps,Merchant's green stamps, and Top Value stamps.I have a few Top Value stamp catalogs that have Frigidaire,GE,Maytag,Whirlpool, and Westinghouse appliances in them.Top Value stamps were the most valuable. You could buy cars, boats and trips around the world. They had a cartoon elephant as their logo. The 1962 catalog had the toy frigidaire kitchen made of tin in pink by the wolverine toy company(now known as "Today's Kids and appliances are made of plastic)available.just 15 books!!

My mom found a bag that had a bunch of S&H stamp books in it recently. I went online and lo and behold, there was S&H still in business and the stamps were still redeemable. But she had so few books filled that there wasn't a single piece of merchandise they could buy that anyone would really want, so I just threw them all out. The other stamps the supermarkets used to give out was "Blue Chip" stamps. Usually the clerk would have a dispenser with a finger wheel kind of arrangement that would be used to dispense the correct number of stamps based on the amount of the purchase. Interesting that the buildings where the redemption centers were located here in town are still standing, and I usually think of these stamps when I pass by them even though the building occupants have changed quite a few times over since they were both redemption centers.

I definately have less than a dollar worth!

At least I'm keeping one of the S&H books, the graphics inside are so great. There are pictures of cool modernist buildings, a woman with a flip hairdo in her kitchen (with appliances!!), several very nice patio scenes.

I shop at a store called Lowes Foods and they have s&h green points.. they can be redeemed for discounts on grociers or other things...Right now i am eligable for a free dozen eggs and some cheese..

I found several books from the late 50s and early 60s in the trash a year ago. There are about 5,000 stamps. When I went to the web page, I saw that 5,000 won't get much so i decided to keep the books as a neat collectable.
