Thromostat Needed

Which one do you need, they are different, with a picture of the old one and the limit temperature off of it I could send you a used one if you want to save a few bucks. What is wrong with the old one, these almost never fail on gas dryers.

I'm pulling it apart today. the burner will not cycle on or off, and as a result, the timer will not advance on automatic with any heat setting. Air setting it advances as it should.. On timed dry the timer advances, the dryer heats just fine, but still will not cycle the burner. I'm not even sure the limit thermostat works...the dryer vent was at 180* last full timed cycle...I'm sure that's way too hot.

I'll post up my findings after 1200 EST.

All 4 !! thermostats checked out fine, both cold and under load(hot).

The missing seal between the lint tube and the bulkhead was probably the culprit.
replaced it with some good weatherstripping and it works as it should.

Thanks for the offer of the parts though!

It was surprisingly clean inside..very little lint..lots of pins and a few pantyhose hangars...WTF?!?!? Must have fallen down when the lint door was open.

I'm going to replace the drum to bulkhead seal this week too. i noticed it was a little worn and just barely touching the bulkhead. Might as well do rollers and the belt while I'm in there.....My 40 dollar dryer is starting to cost me some cash...20 for the seal, 25 for ignitor, another 30 for belt and roller kit...

Having a dryer older than me....Priceless.

Ordered a new drum seal, front seal, front bearing kit, belt/roller/idler kit and a door switch. After it's fixed, it should be a new dryer and last another 40 years.
The rear seal is GONE...Nothing touching the bulkhead at all. No physical damage, just 40 years of wear.

One more thing.....If anyone is still following.

Is there a lamp kit available for the Drum Lamp? I see my new door switch has a N.O. Contact, that should plug into a harness for a drum lamp. I just cannot find the lamp housing and harness anywhere. The drum looks like it has slots for some type of spin-in housing....

Am I seeing things? Did this series ever come with a drum light?

New rear felt, new front felt and bearing, new rollers, new belt, it purrs and reaches cycle temp in about 8 min. on high, 4 on low. A 10Lb load of cotton towels run through the blackstone wringer 2X, on Middle setting of Automatic Cotton and high heat dryed in 36 min. I am VERY happy.
