Dog Barking Sound In VMW Washers During Wash Cycle

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Could be a pump noise. I know on the Airbus A320 series aircraft, passengers sitting in rows greater than 16 sometimes report that they can hear a dog barking in the hold below the cabin floor. What actually makes that noise is a PTU pump that pumps up the pressure for engine start and wing flap use. It's most noticeable when the aircraft is headed to the runway for takeoff.

I was going to mention the Airbus A320 phenomenon.  I have heard it many times and know what causes it, but it's still remarkable just how much it does sound like a barking dog.  Actually, a wind-up dog, because it eventually slows down and then stops.

I don't know what a "Vertical Modular Washer" is.  A stacking toploader maybe?  If it's a GE, their machines used to make a "sawing" sound when new, which some may perceive as "barking" instead.  IIRC, the HE toploaders made by GE also make a similar noise, but in a much slower rhythm.
