I have a Speed Queen AFN51F (Stainless steel front load) that has a door leak at the bottom. It was purchased new in 2014, so 5 years old). The leak has been intermittent for about a year, but seems to have gotten worse. The glass is very clean with no residue or scratches. No hairs or other things to break the seal.

The gasket does have a weird wave or ripple where it contacts the glass. I have attached a pic that sort of shows it. I am not sure if this alone is causing the leak.

The door does have some free play or movement at the bottom. When it is closed you can push it in another 1/16"- 1/8". Is there some way to adjust the door? I have looked at the latch and the hinge and I don't see any way to adjust it to be tighter.

I am willing to replace the whole door gasket/boot, but it is expensive (~$140) and I would like to try tightening up the door first if that is possible. It really seems like the door not closing tight enough is the issue.

I appreciate any thoughts or comments. Other than this minor issue the SS front load washer/dryer combo has been great equipment, zero issues.

SQ FL Door Boot

Rotate The boot 180 degrees , Good suggestion for some models, however this SQ may have a spray spout molded in at the 12 o'clock position so it would not be possible.

We used to rotate damaged boots all the time on WH built FL washers if they had a small defect near the bottom.

I had a leak on my Samsung FL washer.

About six months in I had a small leak from the door on the bottom. There is something like a huge rubber band or something like that, that helps to seal the boot. He showed me that that band or whatever it is had dislodged probably from not being careful when I pull clothes out. He reseated it and I haven't had an issue since.
