Who knew that when I attended a surprise birthday party this past weekend, I would end up receiving a surprise gift myself!

This cute little Dormey hand mixer has all of its original literature and operates smoothly and quietly.  It employs an easy to use infinite speed control and has a good solid heft to it.

This will be a great companion to my Oster "Knee Action" mixer.

Apologies for the sideways picture.  It displays properly when I pull it up.

What a great surprise that is. Someone knows you well.. LOL

Those little Dormys must be built like tanks for the number of them that pop up here and there and all working. I think I've seen as many oof them about than the probably more popular old Sunbeams.

Congrats, Ralph

It's a really strong little mixer. I have the same model that I bought
years ago at a sale for 50 cents, though not as complete as yours.
It's the one I usually grab when I need a hand mixer.
Enjoy!

You'll Love It!

I have a couple of those Model 7500's in white. They are solid, serviceable and don't give trouble.

I would love to find an affordable 7600, which is the chrome-shell version, to go with my Model 5700 Dormeyer all-chrome Princess stand mixer.

P.S.: Kelly, I still am in awe of your sending me the mixer. And Paul (turquoisedude) was instrumental in replacing its missing turntable. Thanks again, guys.

Someone knows you well..

He does!  But he didn't know I had found a pair of beaters for my Oster, so enter the Dormey.  It will be a great tool to have on hand for jobs that are bigger than what the Oster can handle, but small enough to make using the KA K45 overkill.

With the arrival of the Dormey, the modern plastic Proctor Silex will be getting the boot.

Allelujah Chorus

The mixer is cute, extremely quiet, powerful enough to do most anything a Dormeyer stand mixer does and bullet proof. I am not a friend of hand mixers but if I needed to choose one as my DD it would be this one.

Are you using Windows 7 or 8?

The reason your orientation isn't correct with your photos is that Win 7 & 8 tries to figure out which way the picture appears (landscape or portrait) and sets it the way it thinks it should be when you upload it. Some times this is not the way YOU want it to appear.

This is usually caused by a file size problem. Reduce your file size by reducing the number or colors in your photo to 256 and then it will orient correctly. Nobody will ever know you have reduced your photo down from 12MP to 256. But you'll save a ton of disk space PLUS your photos will orient correctly.

Allen, I'm using XP.  I did have the camera turned 90 degrees for that particular shot.  The image displays sideways as a thumbnail, but when I open it (Picasa is the default viewer) it displays upright.
