Downsizing uploaded photos, Can anyone help?

I have tried several times to downsize photos of my collection, so I can post them, but so far I have not figured out how to do it. I am getting frustrated!

Get in MS Paint or a photo-editing program and try reducing them to 1024 X 768. You should be able to post them after that.

Ok,

Lets start off by asking what Operating System you are running?

XP, Win98Se?

If you are running Windows XP you need to download this Powertoys for XP.
On the right side of the page, look for *Image Resizer*
Download and run, then go to your picture folder and right click on the image you want to resize high light the size you want and hit OK.
Then look at the very end of that file and see the image but smaller and uplink photo to post........., the rest is up to you and the other powertoys are very useful also.

1024x768 is still larger than necessary in some cases. 800x600 and even 640x480 is often large enough. If using a full-featured photo editing program, one can also crop out unnecessary material to better focus on the subject matter, and tweaking of brightness/contrast and sharpness can also be done.
