Includes the 3x Ultra flavors. I'll stay with the original April Fresh and use as little as possible. But, if the other scents suit your taste, then go for it.--Laundry Shark

Downy Fabric Softener Balls

The thing I like about these is that I don't have to cart an entire bottle of fabric softener to the laundry room in our building. However, sometimes the balls do not pop open as they should. This is less likely to occur *by not* filling the dispenser balls completely full. Besides, Downy is already so strong and concentrated. Another drawback is that the Downy Fabric Softener Balls sometimes find their way into a pair of pants or shirts. Therefore, I still have to cheat by popping open the machine *at the start of the rinse water fill* to untangle the fabric softener balls so they can release their contents and rinse clean themselves.--Laundry Shark

More On Downy Fabric Softener Balls

I add a little Downy, and then a little water to dilute it some so as not to smell quite so pronounced. Besides, the fabric softener balls rinse more cleanly than with pure Downy added.--Laundry Shark

Can We Please Turn Off the Loud Music?...*sighs and frowns*

I recently bought a couple of gallon jugs of this "Ultra" Downy. The bottle is the same size as before, but with a funky looking lid with three flower peddle like things with a knob in the center. Once again, the Downy.com Web site has been updated, but the continuously looped loud new age style background music makes it impossible for me, as a blind computer user, running a screen reader program, to read what's inside. Therefore, P&G will get a piece of my mind. The company needs to review its Web accessibility standards.--Laundry Shark

I have a Downy ball, use it occasionally if/when the urge hits instead of the agitator-mounted dispenser. I even use non-Downy softeners with it, and the ball has yet to explode from the "misuse." N E Ways, I sometimes have a bit of concern about how well the softener rinses out of / dispenses from the ball, but haven't seen any obvious evidence of malfunction. I have noticed a few times that very thick liquids didn't rinse completely out of my Calypso's dispenser.

Also, the last load of shirts I did (a BobLoad® for sure), I intended to add Downy Advanced manually and missed it. Not wanting to run another rinse, and also as an experiment, I let the load go, and I could definitely tell the difference on the 100% cotton and cotton-blend items. They weren't too bad after hang-drying (300 RPM spin) and then a 20-min dryer run, but clearly not up-to-par of Advanced use.

Can't Have Just One?

I first saw a Downy Ball about seven years ago while sharing a house with four other guys. One of the guys had a Downy Ball. At that time, I could have cared less, as I was an avid SA8 user. Two years ago, I bought six of those Downy Balls, as I use a coin operated set of two washers on our floor, and wanted to have several fabric softener balls ready for multiple loads. Hy-Vee used to have them, but no longer does, unless they have restocked. Wal-Mart had a bunch. One of my cashier/Wal-Mart Associate friends did not know the fabric softener balls were still around in her store, as she had expressed interest in buying at least one for herself.--Laundry Shark

Flower Petals

The Lenor (P&G) (what we call Downy) in the UK has had a new lid on it for about 18months now or more.

Same flower type shape although the cap on it before had like little petal shapes around the top as a hand grip too. I dont have a pic of the old type cap to hand.

Heres the Lenor...
