Downy with whitener

I bought some Downy with Whitener a couple days ago, so far I like it, does pretty well with whites, but that could have some help from the Cascade. Anyway, the only bad thing I see with it is the smell! It smells stronger than Suavitel to me! and boy does it stay in your clothes! Now I can throw out my deoderant!! (Just kidding, lol!)

Linen Water vs. Fabric Softener

So many softeners are like that today...so strong that you can hardly stand them. I was playing around on ebay the other day and found a full 6oz. sample bottle of Downy from the 80's and bought it not only for my collection, but so I could smell it again. The super concentrate ones have a rather oily smell that the regular ones don't. Anyone else notice that?
I have been using linen water in the softener dispenser in my machine for a while for sheets and towels and found that it leaves a very light fragrance and the towels remain absorbant.
