My trusty Drain King hose-end drain unclogger finally met a clog in the kitchen sink clean-out that it couldn't handle.

The sewer line is sound, so would it be a good idea to give the clean-out a 5 or 10 minute blast once a month as a preventative measure?

Your thoughts, world?

I think it might be a good idea, but you might need a large size drain king (also called Dr. Fixit). The kitchen sink pipe is smaller than the sewer and using the small Dr. Fixit isn't likely to seal up enough pressure. Is your plumbing plastic because if it is, you might be able to replace the sink drain pipe, if not you might need a plumber. If you own a power washer, I would recommend a sewer jet, the high pressure will really clean it out!

I use a Drain King 186 which goes into the metal sewer line past the kitchen sink drain via the clean-out, so the plastic pipes aren't an issue. It usually holds pressure but couldn't move a really tough clog that also resisted a plumber's power snake. The clog yielded to hydro-jetting so I've decided that chicken bones and egg shells are off of the Waste King's diet.
