I'm a couple of days late sharing this (damn work commitments!), but here it is:
I had a very lucky break on eBay a few days ago - I was trawling the site looking for various things I'd like to have, and decided to see if there were any Model 7600 chrome Dormeyer "Dormey" mixers available.
Several popped up - and it was the same old story; priced higher than I wanted to go. But one wasn't, and the auction was due to close shortly. To make a long story short, I got it for the opening bid, and very reasonable shipping!
It is virtually perfect, save one very small flaw in the chrome, which I can live with considering that I paid so little. I've had the 7500 in white for a long time (in fact, more than one), but chrome stuff is what really runs my motor.
So, I now have the big chrome Dormeyer Princess stand mixer (I'm still grateful, Kelly!), and its little brother, the chrome Dormey.
To all of you like Kelly, Paul, Ben and Tim who were keeping an eye out for one for me - I'm good. This is a workhorse of a little mixer; I like these better than the Mixmaster, Jr.s.
