Beautiful Range . . .
One thing that always seems odd to me is why Frigidaire made so many ranges with lots of chrome and features but didn't put windows in the oven doors. Seems to me this is a feature most buyers would want on a deluxe range.

I hope they have the supports for the surface units.
RE: the oven windows. While they look great on the 30" ranges, they really break up the design of the front on the 40" ranges, except for that double oven 40" that was posted somewhere here last week that had two window doors. Much as I love oven windows, I am willing to sacrifice that feature to the beauty of the 40" Frigidaire ranges.

The custom imperial is pretty much where we left it - I think the motor on the timer might be bad,so I haven't really started to take it apart yet.

I seem to recall reading somewhere in either Frigidaire or GE literature that the oven preheat times were generally 1 to 2 minutes LONGER in ovens with windows as opposed to those that had solid doors.
A lot of the stove clocks respond to a bit of cleaning with WD 40. That is how I got the clock on the 40" wide oven Westinghouse working. They just get gummed up with grease and dust. Newer Frigidaire clocks had plastic gears and you have to be careful, but it was all metal in the mid 50s stove clocks I've opened.

Too bad it is not the dual oven version and the biggest problem is getting all four surface elements working and keeping them working. If anyone is going to get it get in touch with me if you want details.
I would always rather have an oven with NO oven window unless it is at viewing height like a wall oven may be. Oven windows are usually hard to see through and they waste for more heat than just peeking inside occasionally during cooking which allows a much better view and sensory experience.

That is a gorgeous range, I'd gladly trade of my '62 Custom Imperial Flair for it.
As for the oven windows, I don't care for them as I think it detracts visually, and they too hard to look through unless its panoramic glass like on a flair
