Driveway Filled Up Again......................

My luck lately has been finding dryers before I find the matching washers. True to form I amassed this load in the last couple of weeks. The washer mates for some of these Im sure are lurking nearby. Sigh! Here is another driveway full............

Found this wonderful Speed Queen gas dryer at the local thrift store. In great shape and it works!. I think this dates from about 1967,1968.

Great finds! I REALLY hope you'll find the matching Laundromat for the Westinghouse dryer on the far right, since it's the side-opening version!

And out of all of them, I don't think you'll have a problem at all finding a matching washer for that plastic GE dryer peeking out...;-)

Speed Queen Door.....those of you familiar with Speed Queen might notice something wrong with this pic............The door shroud in on upside down!. The rectangle opening at the bottom of the shroud is the opening for the drum light, and should be at 12 o clock position instead of 6 o clock. Someone put it together "bass ackwards" !!

The plastic GE washer that you see in the pics Austin already got repaired, put back together and sold for $100.00. Thats what helped pay for the rest of the stuff you see here in the driveway. But Im smart, I sold it to a stranger!

Also found this wonderful Hotpoint 30" range. The dates stamped on the inside controls show it to be from appox 1955.

This model Hotpoint has a vertical broiler on the left, with a rather small oven on the right. Its rather grimy (it was in a basement) but everything seems to work including the clock and the porcelain and controls are in great condition. I might use this in my rec room........(maybe!)

And how big is the lint filter on the Speed Queen?

This stove could be nicknamed "Dottie" The burners are color coded, each with a ceramic colored dot that corresponds to each push button control. A Hotpoint exclusive!

Well then, if that wasnt enough, lurking in my side driveway is my van, just back from a trip to Wash DC with ANOTHER full load of stuff........I havent even begun to unload it yet, I think the guys in the white coats and srt8jackets are ready to come and get me...........Will post pics of those finds soon. There ARE some washers in this stash and they ARE matched sets!

OHHHHHHHHHHH LAWD Jimmy. We do reach a point that we must try to stop. I discussed this last weekend with some folks in Atlanta.

Those Speed Queen dryers were certainly well-built machines, they just LOOK solid!
