I've always been curious, what temperatures do dryers dry at? What are the temperatures for high, medium and low heat in say an American Whirlpool dryer? What about European dryers? My Miele and Bosch dryer both seem to dry at very very low temperatures but, what are the temperatures exactly?

Don't know about Miele and B.S.H. but as a clue can tell you vintage Zanussi (now Electrolux) dryers (washcraft series, catalogue year 1984) heated up to 50°C/120°F on normal setting and 40°C/105°F on low heat.

I'm aware today heat pump condenser dryers use lower temps than regular air/air or vintage air/water condenser dryers.
Can't tell the actual temp yet

Jamie, i can tell you the gas frigidaire, has to be the highest temp, dryer on the market right now. It is as hot, if not hotter than my mothers westy electric spacemate. The spacemate got so hot that as a youngster I still remember the heat radiating off the glass window, the metal drum would burn an adults skin. alr2903

My DE806's thermos cycle on at 140F and cycle off at 160F. I think the DE808 comes on at 155F. Can't remember what temp it cycles off at.

My Compact Portable Kenmore Dryer:

On 110-volt gets up to between 140-Degrees/F and 145-Degrees/F according to my placing a Meat Thermometer into the outgoing Exhaust Heated Air. It is only 1-Heat and a separate short Air Only Settings, but the Heated Setting is both Auto and Timed Selections. The Auto Setting also has the Electronic Moisture Sensor and the Timed Setting has from 10 to 105 minutes of Drying Time. The Air Only is approx 10 to 15 minutes, it doesn't really have a set length of time, just a line in the middle between the 2-Off Positions.

Peace and Kind Regards, Steve

Some commercial dryers (100+ K BTU/h input) can go as high as 190*F. Most, IIRC are not kept that high.

Most home-use dryers AFAIK are designed for 140*F to 160*F or less.
