Dryer Venting

Okay everyone, the Norge set is going to be shipped soon and I am working on making room for them in the laundry room. Anyway, I have everything figured out accept the dryer vent. The Norge dryer is going to go next to our current main dryer, but I was wondering how to vent it. Mom doesn't want to drill another hole in the wall, and I don't want to have one of those condenser things, I have tried them in the past and they don't work. Can I put a Y-tube on the vent and have both dryers go to one? Is there some sort of one way valve I could put on them so that they don't blow into each other? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

okay if we have to cut a hole (just a thin piece of sheet metal) how do we go about doing that?

yes, the laundryroom is in the basement and the piece of sheet metal in in place of one of the window panes, the window cannot be opened.

Jamie, you cannot simply use a Y connection for venting because some of the exaust from one dryer will be forced out into the blower of the other dryer when only one dryer is operating.

You really need to use seperate vents. You might just consider moving the vent pipe between what ever dryer you wish to use.

I would move the vent pipe back and forth between the dryers but, 1) mom wouldn't allow it, 2)I plan on using them at the same time. So all I am left with is drilling a hole in the sheet metal or removing a window pane and finding another piece of sheet metal with that same opening. Which is a better idea?

take out another pane OR, if there's room, drilling another hole in existing sheet metal and putting new vent next to old one.

To cut a hole in sheetmetal

1) There is a 4" hole cutter available cheap with a drill bit in the center and a blade around it. Attaches to drill. Quick easy, clean

OR

2) Scribe a 4" circle using hose or elbow as template. Using a large drill bit make a hole inside the circle near the perimeter. With a jig saw (a/k/a sabre saw?) cut out the hole.
