This is a 1980 Wards dryer ad that I found - does anyone know if this is still the Norge design or the WCI disaster?

1980 monkey norge

i had a 1980 monkey norge that lasted untill 1998-it was quite effective,but
more mechanicly troublesome than the 1987 KM i am currently using;besides the
pressure ventilation of the drum these used which would blow the door just slightly
and blow lint around once the latch wore some,the 1/2 hp motor,twice the power of
most other dryers, was heavily loaded by the large drum and the big axial fan-
would have to clean lint buildup from the motor cooling intakes about every year
or the motor would overheat and trip off.In 1998 the motor seized and with no
replacement avalible at the dump at that time,the battered old dryer was junked
and stripped for parts,the fan still serving yard windmill duty LOL.
Seems the big axial fan was switched to a slightly smaller radial flow design about
1983 along with a drop in motor hp to 1/3 hp,this design lasting through about 1985

Yup, it's a Norge. My '74 Wards dryer has the same issues cfz2882 cites: blowing lint but it's a sweet and very effective dryer. I took a pair of pliers and slightly bent the protruding dryer latch to hold the door closed better. Also bought some really thin adhesive weatherstrip to beef up the rubber door gasket and ran it between the existing door gasket for a better "seal" to keep the lint from blowing thru the cracks of the door.
