But then trouble began.....

Ut oh....On its second try at toasting, all the lights went off and the toaster appeared to be dead. HMMMMMMMM!

After waiting a few minutes, it started again, then went dead.

Any suggestions?

It really is a beautiful commercial toaster.

Reason no glo, tree dollah 99 cent, what you expect?

Groan, don't it piss you off. Time to get out the screwdriver and see what's in there. Those dualits don't have a timer or pop up mechanism do they. Is that scary "electronics" for the doneness dial?

You would think for a

$200 Dallaa toaster, it would at least toast.

Frustrating or what?

Toggle made a beeline for it and snatched it up so fast your up-do would spin. Just like Filene's basement in Boston(with wedding gowns), noone was going to grab it away from him!

Greetings from the land of Dualit.....

Hey Guys

The electronic models are VERY unusual- ive seen one come in for repair in about the last 8 years.

Dualits do make amazing toast. I have a 2004 2 slice polished model. Was lucky enough to get it for £55($100 odd) through a shop opening offer(half price). This also has the wider slots for doorstep toast lol.

The age is very easy to figure(the first 2 or 4 digits of the serial # are the year).

Hope its something simple ;)

I love mine too.

I notice that the first round of toast works well to the diamond on the dial. But, the second and subsequent rounds of toast can be set for less time because the toaster seems to hold the heat well. Has anyone else noticed that with theirs? I paid a little more than $3.99 for mine too. I got it at one of the Outlet Malls in Atlanta. I think it was William-Sonoma. I've had mine for a number of years and hope to have it for many more. They make good toast.

I hope yours is a simple fix.
