Duet first wash and stain removal

I went for the Heaviest longest wash and, I'm sure you'll be surprised, WARM wash. The default is HOT (not "super hot" as they call it)
Look at that time. And I forgot that it automatically turns on the extra rinse option, as you can see illuminated. Still it didn't seem like it took that long. Though it does say estimated time. The computer gives an allowance in case it has to perform suds lock elimination or who knows what else.

So it is difficult to show the clothes moving in still pictures. I have a video camera but probably don't have the hardware to connect to my computer.

so I ate my dinner. I read some email. and the washer is quietly done.
I need to remove the clear plastic film on the door, too.

now honestly, I didn't expect the tomato stains to come out. or the grass stains either. Now remember, this was a warm water wash.

The long red dried stain I did not find.
there is no grass, mud, grease, warehouse floor dirt.
other than the pre-existing paint stains, which for the most part are beige or white and don't show up on camera there was only one very faint, I think food stain. I lightened the pic. to show it.
I was prepared to rewash anything that didn't come out and Use hot water if need be but I didn't. (These are after all Utility sheets)
I was a little disappointed in the gloves. But, these $2 gloves are meant to be thrown away after a couple of uses and I have washed them probably 6 times aready. I have found that because they are not made of the best material it doesn't take much to stain them. They will be able to be used again. lol.

As i tried to explain earlier, (and didn't do a thorough job of) I had a sheet which has been used on the garage floor and got wet and had black marks in several areas, and was allowed to dry like that and the marks didn't come out. It was like that for a year. Until I washed it in my friends Duet.

This is the only stain I suspect is food. I scanned all the scheets, both sides. The 2 sheets that I deliberately stained I went over twice.

this has beige paint specks which are fading and because my cheap (yet reliable) camera doesn't have the best resolution.

So as of yet the machine has not made any off-balance sounds. It doesn't sound any different with the clothes in compared to when it was empty.
Now when it spins the detergent bottle wabbles a little bit sitting on top.

Who every thought the day would come when the dryer would actually make more noise than the washer.

So I'm going to need some of these sheets tomorrow. I'm going to a nude beach on a date. I can use the sheets to sit on. We'll see what kind of stains I come home with.

Deinitely a nice machine I must say, also super capacity! As for stain removal it doesn't surprise me it gets your clothes fairly clean, it's a front loader! About water temperature, doesn't it say what hor/super hot are? I believe those are around 60°C and 90°C, isn't it? Warm around 35-40°C and cold...well it's cold.
And the spin speed? How fast does it go, better than 1200rpm?

Congratulations on your beautiful new Whirlpool washer, I love the styling of these machines modern and elegant.
It should be a really quiet machine thanks to its 3 Phase (Inverter) Induction Motor.

The Duet doesn't have a 3-phase motor, only heavy duty commercial washers have 3-phase power run to them. 3-phase power is almost never run to residential areas because it's so incredibly expensive to have put in.

Simulated 3 Phase (Inverter Technology)

Hello Pulsator,
I'm an appliance engineer by trade and I can assure you that the Duets are fitted with 3 Phase Induction Motors. Your comments regarding 3 Phase power are correct however the Duet uses an Electronic Inverter to simulate a 3 Phase supply and raise the frequency to over 300Hz during the spin cycle; the high frequency is required to attain the high motor shaft speeds 10,000RPM plus on top spin.
A lot of top end washers use this technology from Hotpoint UK to Miele.

That wasn't a full load. Heavy duty would have started with warm water and heated it to hot. It is the equivalent of Stain Treat option on Kenmores.

Nice pictures! Thanks! If you want even better results, I agree you should use powder instead of liquid detergent. And I would definitely try the Heavy Duty cycle sometimes, most whites can handle those temperatures. IIRC, the hottest temperature is 153*F (65*C) which isn't that hot for whites. Overhere in Europe we are used to washing whites much hotter.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I will try the Heavy Duty cycle, Bob and Louis, for sure the next time I wash that sheet to see if I can get the last stain removed. I will even use HOT !

So if there is another thread somewhere about the differences between the cleaning ability of Powder vs Liquid, let me know.
Otherwise, why is one preferred. I did see a box of HE the other day at the grocery store. I know your supposed to use that if your going to use the timed delay.

Erik, I'm not sure if there is a thread going on about powder vs liquid, I don't keep up with all the threads these days. Launderess might be able to tell you more about this, she is very knowledgeable on detergent. IIRC it is difficult to keep all the ingredients working in a liquid, powders are much more stabile.
